چکیده

AbstractBackgroud Studies about the clinical significance of high eosinophil levels in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are conflicting, and it has been less studied hospitalized patients with acute exacerbation COPD (AECOPD).This study was to examine blood relation prognosis AECOPD. Methods This a retrospective cohort AECOPD as their primary diagnosis admitted Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical University, from January 2010 December 2016. The were assigned according count peripheral at first hospitalization. Patients grouped ?100, 100–300, ?300 eosinophils/µL blood. use glucocorticoids, duration hospitalization, in-hospital mortality, re-hospitalization examined. Results Compared 100–300 group, ?100 group showed higher frequencies fever, respiratory failure, systemic glucocorticoids. Eosinophil counts not associated mortality multivariable analysis that GOLD3/4 (odds ratio (OR)=2.04, 95%CI: 1.20–3.44, P = 0.008), glucocorticoids (OR=1.84, 1.41–2.98, 0.012), mechanical ventilation (OR=2.66, 1.36–5.18, 0.004), past year before hospitalization (OR=2.03, 1.27–3.23, 0.003) independently within 1 after discharge. Conclusions Peripheral 1-year prognosis.

Body mass index (BMI) has been implicated in COPD risk assessment, but information is mostly limited to composite scores or to patients with stable disease. We aimed to analyse the association between BMI and mortality in acute exacerbati...
